Are you a social studies teacher in need of emergency sub plans?! If you have access to online streaming (please check before buying: it was previously on Netflix, but is now on PBS and Amazon Prime streaming), consider this video guide regarding urbanization. A note and powerpoint with directions for both a substitute and your students will help you take care of yourself while your students are learning in the classroom!
It’s my hope that this video guide will provide you with some relief on a day when an emergency sub plan is needed. Or, I’ve been there, when a video on urbanization fits into the schedule and you’re still in the room! If using as sub plans, feel free to use the substitute instruction page provided, which also includes a link to a Google Slide with instructions for students as they walk in.
The series, “How We Got to Now” is streaming on Netflix. Please provide your substitute with access to your computer and a Netflix account for this sub plan to work :) The video runs for 55 minutes.
Great for any high school social studies class to provide visuals on real-life urbanization and the problems and solutions centered around creating livable, clean cities.
While most questions are short answer, multiple choice is provided when I feel the needed answer is difficult to spell and will result in confusion. An answer key is provided.
