Description

It's about time to change things up. Your kids need to be creative, have fun, and learn simultaneously!

The solution? This "Us and Them" Comic!

"Us and Them" is one of the shortest vignettes in House on Mango Street. Have your students read and then generate their own comics. They will select who they are--Mango Street residents or visitors--then they create the comic from their perspective and share with partners/whole group!

This is an awesome way to get students to step into the characters' shoes, be creative, and understand the theme of culture and stereotypes in the story.

- good for middle/high school students
