This Common Core language lesson asks students to use correct hyphenation. In this lesson, students will read a short passage, and then identify words that should be hyphenated, such as compound adjectives, compound numbers, created compounds, affixes, suspending series, and confusion eliminators. Only the most common hyphen guidelines (out of 30) are used in this lesson. In addition to the lesson, there are numerous pages of Independent Practice and review with questions modeled after the Common Core assessment items.
