From The Barbarian's Creative Library Store here is a PowerPoint presentation that can be used in an interactive lesson with lots of games. They say that a picture paints a thousand words and there are plenty of examples already showing how to interpret images to gain more information. This presentation is different.....
It uses Visual Literacy to explain how the same brain power can be applied to Study Skills and Information Literacy in general. For example by using images that can be looked at in different ways to reveal two pictures in one, we can explain the need to reflect on two different viewpoints in a piece of written work.
The presentation covers:
Being creative in our writing and thoughts
Having our own thoughts and opinions about something
Paying attention to detail to gain and give more information about something
Looking for clues to help us understand and give more information
Learn how we can be deceived and the power of persuasion in writing
Similarly to my jigsaw puzzle this lesson seeks to show students what this type of learning feels like and the method of thinking you need for achieving a good outcome and grades.
The teacher notes giving guidance on how to use the exercises are given in the PowerPoint
