Using a Known Root Word as a Clue to the Meaning of an Unknown Word is a great way for students to build their vocabularies!
This no-prep root words packet is made extra cute by the “key” theme, which was used in order to emphasize how root words are the key to larger vocabularies. .
This unit is designed for third grade, but may be used for advanced 2nd grade students, or for 4th grade students.
These activities can be used to preview, teach, or review root words, and how to use them as clues to the meanings of unknown words.
