In this activity, students are required to solve either 100 or 49 equations based on Integers and Orders of Operation. Once complete, they use their solutions to create a colour coded image of a surprise Maths symbol.
This activity set which contains 31 unique puzzles which each generate their own individual image - meaning that nobody needs to be working on the same sheet at the same time. Puzzles are aimed at three different ability levels, and accommodate red-green, green-brown and yellow-blue colour blindness. A free sample of this activity is also available on my TPT site - Using Art to Teach Integers and Orders of Operation (free sample).
This activity has been designed to address the ACARA Year 8 Maths, but could be used for the ACARA Year 7 Maths curriculum or any other curriculum investigating negative and positive integers as well as orders of operation.
