This mini-pack includes four lessons that use easy-to-find videos to help students (gifted or ALL students) discuss an social and emotional issues that they may be facing. Each lesson in this pack includes a synopsis of the video, a menu of introductory activities, discussion questions aligned with social and emotional issues, and a menu of follow up activities, including craftivities.
This pack includes lessons to go along with the videos "The Berenstain Bears: Too Much Pressure." "The Dot," "Amazing Grace," and "Brave Irene." Issues addressed through these lessons include fear of failure, self-consciousness, peer relations, empathy, humility, pressure to meet expectations, underachievement, facing challenges, acceptance, perfectionism, being misunderstood, learning environments, being well-rounded, being true to oneself, gifted boys, gifted girls, advocacy and support, leadership, gifted minorities, and twice exceptional.
While this mini-pack is advertised as Pre-K/Kindergarten level, these lessons can be appropriate and have extensions for 1st-5th grades as well.
