Four weeks of warm-ups to reinforce students' use of context clues and build academic vocabulary
Being able to figure out the meaning of new words based on their context is an essential skill - both in school and beyond! However, while students may know they should be using context clues, they may have trouble using them effectively.
In these activities, students will focus on one context clue strategy at a time (definitions, cause and effect, antonyms, and relationships between words). They'll gain confidence with each strategy before moving onto the next and will become more adept at explaining their reasoning behind the definition for each word.

- four worksheets (one for each skill)
- four pages of daily warm-ups (one sentence per day) to cut apart
