This practice paragraph provides a practice for students to use expository transitions correctly. I have provided an answer key for possible transitions, but of course there are many other correct choices. I like to provide my students with a list of expository transitions, then use our dry-erase boards to make suggestions. We then discuss what fits best and students fill-in their favorite choice. Expository transitions can be so tricky, I have found the best way to teach them is in real-life examples.
