PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Teachers sometimes have a hard time coming up with just the right way to introduce division to their students. This product gives them a way to do this where the students can understand. It starts out with reviewing multiplying by multiples of 10 and 100 so the students can easily move into the fact families in division with multiples of 10 and 100.

Ex. 35 / 7 = 5
350 / 7 = 50

This then gives the students a chance to move into using fact families to estimate the quotients. This helps the students as they move forward into division and allows them to estimate a dividend that would allow the divisor to fit into the quotient.

Lessons Included:

- Multiplying by Multiples of 10 and 100 (Practice)

- Using Fact Families to Connect Multiplication and Division with
Multiples of 10 and 100 (Fill in the blank Rules)

- Using Fact Families to Solve Division Problems (Sort)

- Using Fact Families to Estimate Quotients (Sort)

All of the activities can be used as interactive notebooks. No Prep required. Read the directions, make copy for the students, and teach!
