Lesson by John Brantingham,professor of English at Mt. San Antonio College. In a 45 minute exercise, students will learn how to use meter in poetry. There is a discussion of how meter works and an assignment. By the end of the lesson, all students will learn how to write a single-stress line like William Carlos Williams's poem "This is Just to Say." Lewis Carroll's "Jabberwocky" is also explained in terms of meter.
