This lesson includes a 13-slide PowerPoint to use as you are teaching this set of vocabulary words. The 12 words are: idiosyncratic, inept, supercilious, anecdote, epitomizes, cliché, derivative, jubilant, apathy, cantankerous, concur, and misnomer.
Each slide has at least one funny picture to go along with the word. My students really enjoy it when I present vocabulary this way. After I have gone through the PowerPoint, I give the students the included mnemonics lesson. They have a good time trying to come up with clever mnemonic devices. I have included a couple of examples as models for the students. And lastly, this lesson includes a quiz and key. The quiz can be completed on a scantron document if that is an option for you, but it doesn't have to be. I hope this lesson is helpful to you and your students.
