This is a lively, movement-based lesson that gives students an embodied understanding of the rock cycle.
The lesson begins with a demonstration of the different processes of rock formation using food (think melting chocolate chips and crumbly crackers!). Then you will guide students through building a "movement sentence" to demonstrate each different process. It offers students a nice blend of creative expression, concept visualization and teamwork.
The lesson culminates by performing sentences for each other in small groups, with an opportunity for reflection and sharing in the group. This lesson rocks! :)
