Using Nouns in Sentences – PowerPoint is an interactive instructional tool for teaching how nouns are used in sentences.
The PowerPoint begins with a review of the first job of nouns—identifying people, animals, places, things, ideas/feelings. After refreshing students’ memory of common/proper nouns and concrete/abstract nouns, the uses of nouns in sentences are introduced. First is the subject (who or what the sentence is about), followed by the object (who or what receives the action). Finally, predicate nominatives (who or what is linked to the subject) are taught. Students are encouraged to take notes as information is presented. Interactive slides provide review of concepts and practice. In addition, teaching tips are included as Comments for most of the slides.
There are two slideshows. One is illustrated with Super Hero clipart by Revidevi and is read-only to protect the art. The other is savable, but the clipart has been removed. Both PPTs contain the same grammar content and interactive animation.
