This is a collection of nursery rhyme activities that encourage students to work independently during word Daily Five work time while the teacher is busy with guided reading groups. Not only can these activities be used during Word work time, they will allow for independent reading in that they are already familiar with nursery rhymes. It also allows the students to work on building fluency.
Some activities include: reading rhymes, look and color frequent sight words, identifying rhyming words, drawing beginning middle, end, cutting and gluing rhyming words and matching to pictures.
What great way to start Daily Five routines!
