Using Oreos to Teach Chloroplast Structure

Using Oreos to Teach Chloroplast Structure
Product Description
It is important to understand the structure of a chloroplast when teaching a unit on plants, especially photosynthesis. I had an “aha” moment in the grocery store several years ago after the “Grinch” movie came out. I wanted my students to visualize the chloroplast, not just memorize the parts on a diagram. After the movie came out, I began seeing Oreo’s with green filling in the grocery store, and it dawned on me that I can use the bag of Oreo’s to illustrate chloroplast structure.
