It emphasizes on a poem The Slave's Dream by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow to learn and understand about slavery and to work together to create responses. Students would have to imagine themselves being a slave through the poem and try to understand how it felt. This helps to focus on learning, social, creative, and thinking aspects of a students' learning. It helps them to understand what happened during slavery from a poetic point of view and how a person was able to express themselves other then through books, pictures, and music.
