PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

In this lesson/activity, students will
- write a quadratic function that models the value of a certain inventory
- write a quadratic function that models the area of a changing region
- find the input value that maximizes value OR area
-find the maximum value of an inventory OR maximum area that can be obtained under certain conditions

The intent of this manipulative is to teach students how to create a quadratic function for real-world modeling. Students must then find the x intercepts FIRST. They will take the average of the x intercepts to find the Line or Axis of Symmetry. Finally, they will use this value to plug into their original function to find the maximum value of an inventory OR area of a rectangular region.
