Product Description
Based on research conducted in an early childhood special education classroom, this lesson incorporates a strategy known as simultaneous prompting (SP; Wolery, Ault, & Doyle, 1992). This strategy was used to teach special needs preschoolers with autism primary colors and common objects. This product includes 3 songs, 9 colored picture cards, 9 black/white picture cards, directions, references and a data collection form. The strategy is simple and easy to incorporate into an existing circle time routine. Research findings suggest that simultaneous prompting is an effective and efficient strategy for teaching students with special needs communication skills.
