Here is a quick worksheet we created to test student knowledge on text features. The passage is on blue whales, and the worksheet asks students to label what text features can used by this article.
In my school, it was used as a practice for a non-fiction common core unit. It can also be used as an embedded task. There is a word bank. Features used are title, caption, label, diagram, subheading, and bold print.
I also want to give credit to ZoomWhales.com for their diagram. Thanks!
Common Core Standard (Grade 2)
