By request, I created this worksheet to test student knowledge on text features. The passage focuses on pueblos, and the worksheet asks students to label what text features can used by this article.
This serves as practice for identifying common text features of a non-fiction/informative text. It can also be used as an embedded task. There is a word bank. Features used are title, caption, photograph, illustration, subheading, and keywords.
All text was written original by me. However, I want to give credit to nps.gov for the photograph and illustration.
Common Core Standard (Grade 2)
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RI.2.5 Know and use various text features (e.g., captions, bold print, subheadings, glossaries, indexes, electronic menus, icons) to locate key facts or information in a text efficiently.
Thanks for looking!
