This is a fun way to teach students how to use voice in their writing. Voice Man is a "character" that I made up. His face is made up of 10 letters, all of which stand for a word/skill (ex: using a hook, using creative adjectives). Teach each skill individually, then introduce your students to VOICE MAN.
Voice Man will help students remember ten ways to incorporate voice into their writing!
I have used this method successfully for 8th - 10th graders, but several of my teacher friends use this at the elementary level.
Students love it because they can doodle Voice Man onto their rough draft to help them remember what they can add before the final draft of their composition.
