PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This document gives clear, step-by-step directions for students to create a Wordle from the text of an article.

By creating a Wordle for the main ideas, students are able to focus on key words and phrases and remove any words that do not relate to the main ideas of the article.

Then, students will be able to write a short summary based on the Wordle, rather than rather than get stuck in the details of the original article.

Not only does this provide a unique way to practice Main Idea, but it also encourages the use of valuable technology skills. This activity can be done at home or in a school computer lab.

Sample is included.
