PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

I used this activity to discourage the use of black and gray shadows, in favor of using many colors to mix a cool shadow. This project allows students to draw their own conclusion rather than telling them what to do.

Students are asked to copy a simple sphere with highlight and shadow from a drawing in black and white. Then, they are asked to do the same using only primary colors. They must try to make the shadows and highlights look authentic. Then, they compare the results between the two drawings. This project makes a great share and compare project.

*Please note that the drawing at the top of this worksheet is not mine. I am not claiming it as such. The rest of the content is original.
