This is a fun timed activity where students read a set of clues and try to correctly place items on a grid. Students read the clues that say where each item is on the grid through the location words delante, en frente, al lado, encima, debajo, y entre, along with the verb estar. Once they have completed the grid, they must then answer a series of questions regarding the location of objects to win the game.
This activity practices the understanding of the location words, along with passive reception of the verb conjugations estar. It can be done in partners or individually, and can be done for a prize if you want to infuse energy into it.
This is a great stand-alone activity for Spanish 1 and 2, and can be used in conjunction with Realidades 1 2b
The free preview has two examples of the prompts and one example of the questions at the end.
