Product Description
Etymology, the study of word origins, is one of my favorite topics. Knowing how words are made can greatly help students when it comes to figuring out words they don't know.

This lesson teaches 5 common prefixes, and ends with a game using the prefix "pre". As with all my lessons, I put the learning into the students' hands as much as possible by asking questions and eliciting examples from them.

This lesson uses the workshop model and has a checkbox for the teacher to circle which standards they are using in the lesson. While it lists ESL standards and was used in a classroom with ESL students, this lesson is appropriate for students of all abilities.

Check out my money-saving grammar bundle, which includes this lesson: Fun with Grammar Bundle: Apostrophes, Nouns, Verbs, Prefixes
