"Using the Newspaper to Teach Economics" is a supplemental section of 13 complete lessons to be used in a two week period. (Not necessarily in consecutive order.) This lesson page belongs to the Curriculum Guide titled: ECONOMICS: Ideas—Concepts—Applications, which was designed to teach your students to understand how the economies of the nation and the world are influenced by choices made by individuals, groups, and governments. This guide offers classroom activities to promote active learning and enhance student understanding of the material covered in their textbook. In addition to reinforcing the facts, the activities require students to conduct independent research, evaluate, analyze, and synthesize information, and hypothesize about the future.
