Product Description
This is a great writing activity to do with students during Candy Cane season! The activity encourages children to add descriptors to their writing. Purchase a small candy can for each student. Work together to complete the first page. It is a chart that asks children to use each of their five senses to explore the candy cane and record an adjective. I always taste last so I can keep their attention. Then, later that day or the next, I show them how to take the words from their list and create sentences. The result is writing that describes candy canes. It is always fun to write about something that we experience :-)
