Some of my students have difficulty choosing the correct formula to use when given a word problem. After teaching the formulas for area and perimeter of rectangles and triangles, surface area and volume of rectangular prisms, and circumference and area of circles, we practice just choosing the correct formula. They do not have to memorize the formulas but I included the formulas themselves so they would get used to reading them from their formula sheets. There are 30 problems where the student does not have numbers but just needs to chose the appropriate formula for a given situation. I found this really helped my SPED students look for clue words.
