Vamos a la Mar is one of my favorite Hispanic Folk songs to use with my elementary music studnets-- especially during Hispanic Heritage Month! This song is from Guatemala, and talks all about going to the ocean. In this lesson, your students can sing, learn about Guatemala, improvise with ocean animals, play Orff arrangements (6 different options makes it great for different ages!), and learn about quarter rest. Perfect for Hispanic Heritage Month, summer time (Vamos a la Mar means let's go to the ocean!), or any time of the year! I use this lesson with 3rd and 4th grade music students.
Goes perfectly with this lesson:
Ocean Animal rhythm composition cards (Spanish and English!)
Ocean animal 4 corners (Spanish and English!)
