Research tells us over and over that immediate student feedback is a major factor in raising student learning and achievement. It also tells us that having students monitor their own personal academic progress when working on mastering Essential Learning Targets is a mighty motivator for them. Students get excited and more confident when they track their progress on paper as a visual reminder of how they are doing.
Each Student Progress Self-Monitoring Form in this packet has a different theme that can be used throughout the school year in any order. Directions for the students are printed on each form. Students can complete a form for each Essential Learning Target they are working on during a specific time frame. They will chart their progress after taking each Formative Assessment. They can keep all of their completed forms in a binder or portfolio as a visual reminder of how much progress they have made in a subject throughout the school year. It will also show the students the concepts and/or skills that they have mastered and those that they need to spend more time on until they really understand it.
We hope you find these forms useful for your students!
