There are 15 pink picture cards representing 2 syllable words. Each word is 2 syllable with the first syllable closed, and the second closed with silent e (VC/CVCe). Students make the word on the picture card by matching the blue (beginning syllable) card, and the yellow (ending syllable) card. It is a good way to help transition children from reading CVC words to multi-syllable words. I use it after teaching VC/CV syllable pattern, and silent e. It is also a good supplement when teaching them the reading/ decoding strategy of chunking words. I created this activity for my kids after an Orton-Gillingham professional development. It seems to work well for them. I hope you all like it.
