Product Description

These notes are designed specifically for the VCE Biology Unit 3 study design (2016-2021) key knowledge area: Nucleic Acids & Proteins.

I will be uploading doodle notes under each key knowledge area, and each document will address at least one dot-point from the study design; this dot-point is illustrated within the notes so that the students can make relevant connections with their learning.

What's in these notes:

1. Note version

2. Fill in the blank version

3. Visual glossary; containing key terminology required for this topic alongside images

4. Lots of visuals to colour in

These notes detail the following and more:

  • information regarding protein functional diversity
  • defining proteome, proteomics and genome
  • a table listing types of proteins, and their function
  • the 4 levels protein hierarchical structure
  • a visual glossary

These notes address: #2.2 protein functional diversity and the nature of the proteome; and #2.3 the functional importance of the four hierarchal levels of protein structure. NB: I have numbered each dot point for my own reference. As there are 14 key knowledge areas within the course, each number is based from this. For instance, there are 3 dot-points under 'Plasma Membranes', so they are numbered: #1.1, #1.2, #1.3. This pattern is consistent with all of my resources.
