The Virginia Department of Education did a analysis on the reading SOL tests for grades 3-5 and found specific areas of weakness across the board. They made a presentation and had some suggested questions and wordings for questions to help better prepare the students. I took those questions and turned them into cards to use during guided reading.
There are two formats depending on your preference. I printed a set, cut them in half, cut 12x12 card stock in half, then glue the questions onto each one (front and back if you want to save card stock). Finally, I laminated them so I could write on them with dry or wet erase marker.
I hope that this helps some of my fellow teachers!
A short introduction on how to use the cards.
