Today's "plugged in" students learn differently than those of years ago.
This unit provides the information and structure to help them understand the video game review genre, analyze examples, and go through the writing process to craft their own video game review. Students get to do something they enjoy and express their opinion as well. It's a great way to get persuasive writing into your curriculum in a "real world" way.
The unit has a narrative of the activities, a sample chart of genre characteristics, two game reviews with an analysis of each, a video game review assignment, a "spice up your writing" sheet for the revision process, and a rubric to assist you in grading the reviews.
