Do you have a VIP Table? Do you struggle over choosing who gets to sit there?
Put the responsibility of monitoring behavior back on the students. Have them be the ones who help you notice the great thing that other people are doing in your classroom.
Use these tickets to not only get your children writing about the positives, but also helping you pick who gets to sit there.
In my classroom, students have to write the person they think deserves to sit there and why, and put it in a jar. Then I randomly draw from those. If it's not "convincing enough" I put it back without ever reading them. This gave me some control and makes the kids be extra sure to work really hard to convince me their classmate deserved it and makes the others work hard to convince others to write it.
