This presentation is for use as practice, when you need lesson plans for a substitute or to help a student make-up missed comprehensible input.
It follows the TPRS® (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) method of instruction.
This series of stories is based upon the “Vocabulary List for the Classical TPR Phase” found in Appendix D of Fluency Through TPR Storytelling, Third Edition by Blaine Ray and Contee Seely. As you will note, the verbs are given in the 3rd person singular form.
Each story is built on previously presented words in the ¡VIVA! series. New words unique to the story are presented in the same manner as the vocabulary was presented in ¡VIVA! Sets 1 – 13. The story is narrated line by line and can be replayed by clicking the appropriate. By clicking on the symbol in the lower right of the screen, you can see the English translations of each line.
The same “Examencitos A, B y C” follow each story. There are 2 added activities: “Examencito D”, which are questions based on the story, and “Escritura”, which asks the students to do a 50 word summary in Spanish of the story.
The slideshow is manually advanced, so you can take your time, replaying the audio as necessary.
