These notes are best used for teaching Virginia Studies geography. Students will learn about the location of the five regions of Virginia and their characteristics. When I use this in my classroom, I have my students color the regions as we are learning to help them identify its shape and location. In addition, the notes outline the main water features including the Atlantic Ocean, Chesapeake Bay, and the rivers of Virginia. There is also information on the bordering states, Dismal Swamp, Lake Drummond, the Fall Line, and the Eastern Shore. All information has come from the VDOE, so the information is accurate. This would be a nice addition to a Virginia Studies journal. Enjoy!
