Looking for a way to spruce up your unit after the American Revolution was over? Then consider having your students play Code Word! It is based on a TV game show created in 1961 that has been rebooted over the years. The rules are simple! Two people sit across from each other while one player gives the clues and the other ones tries to guess the "password". The catch is that the glue giver may only give a one word clue. The player guessing has one chance to guess the "password" before the other team of two gets a chance. Play continues until one team correctly guesses the "password".

The game play is slightly different in this version but the idea is still the same. Students will be required to think creatively when giving clues making this game one that taps into higher level thinking. Included in this file are:
♦ A condensed version of the above video link embedded in the PowerPoint so students can get a feel for the game format
♦ 25 vocabulary words/people/places to know
♦ Timer on each page
♦ Fun sound effects
♦ Slide to add more terms if necessary
♦ Updated to the 2015 VDOE Standards
Your students will love this game and ask for more!
