Bring play into your classroom while teaching essential standards.

Teach your students how to play Bump and Cover Up once and they will be ready to play all these games independently.

The set lends to differentiation. Students can play the games for the addition facts they need to practice.

Each of the following games comes in color and black and white. I print the color versions and laminate to keep in the classroom. The black and white versions can be used in class or sent home for fun number practice. There are 24 different game boards. Each level has two games: one bump and one cover up.

Make 10.

The games can be played with six sided dice or the number cards included. Some students don't have dice at home so I'll provide number cards for them to use.

Check out my Animal Theme version that can be used year round.
Fluently add and subtract within 20 using mental strategies. By end of Grade 2, know from memory all sums of two one-digit numbers.
Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).
