Valentine Addition Word problems
7 Interactive Word Problems
This is a set of 7 different interactive Valentine addition word/story problems. Students use 4 different strategies, to solve the problem. These strategies are illustrations, a ten frame, a number line, and tallies. They show their problem in an equation format and write the sum using a number word. The children write a friend’s name and their own name in the problem. They love becoming part of the story! Then they roll 2 number dice to find the addends. If they roll a six they roll again. You can cover the 6 with a dot sticker or make dice using wooden cubes with 0 – 5 written on them. I have 0 – 5 spinners to use. These word problems make a great hall display.
