Do you need a low prep/no prep articulation activity to practice sounds in a small group, for homework or in the classroom? This articulation practice resource is just that product!
Use for Valentine's day or throughout the year to practice sounds on "rocks" and cover with realistic looking rocks or color in each on the sheet.
Sounds included in this resource: initial /f/, /g/, /k/, /l/, /r/, /s/ as well as mixed positions for sounds of /f/, /g/, /k/, /l/, /r/, /s/, /t/, /ch/, /sh/, /th/, /l/ blends, /r/ blends and /s/ blends. A blank sheet is also included to add your own pictures or words.
To use: Print off the sheet that has your child's sound. Print off the colored rock sheet on card stock. Lamination is optional. Students will find a rock on their picture sheet, say the picture's name using their sound and if capable, produce a sentence using the picture name. When completed with the turn, they will place the matching "rock" over the one on the picture page. If you want to make this totally no prep, students can color the rocks on the page. In addition, the colored rock sheet can be used as a smash mat for play doh for any activity you have for them.
This activity is great for use in small groups, work within the classroom and as homework to increase the home school connection.
The activity can also be explained using the word "rock" for this activity and other meanings of the word rock. In addition, rocks being left for others to find around communities can be explained. A great way to promote conversation!
