This is a Valentine math activity to engage your students on that day of the year that they are all excited about—it provides a hands on learning activity with several math skills. I've been using this more years than I care to admit, and the kids have LoVeD it every year.
Each student must have a box of candy hearts. There are several brands of candy hearts out there (each with different colors) so for the graphing activity I’ve included a blank graph so the details can be filled in by your students as well as two different sized sorting sheets. Choose which graph/sorting sheet will work best for your students/the candy hearts that you use.
There are seven different quick activities—pick and choose the ones that your students will be able to complete based on what you’ve taught in the classroom.
I hope your students have fun with this hands on activity! Happy Valentine’s Day!
