This is a great activity for multiple ages as well as abilities.

Black and White Candy Hearts Graph
● Give students a graph, crayons or markers, and a cup of candy hearts (be sure there are not more than 7 of any color).
● Have student sort the candy hearts onto the graph according to color.
● Once the hearts are sorted, have the student remove one candy at a time coloring in the box where the candy was the coordinating color.
● After the boxes have been colored, have the student count how many hearts were colored of each color and write the number in the box below the graph.
★ For advanced students: Have the student sort the hearts off of the graph, count them, write the number in the box below and then color that many hearts.
➔ For readers: use the black and white copy and have the student read the color word and color that color word box accordingly.
➢ For struggling students: use less hearts or fewer colors. Teacher can write a number in the box and student has to find that many hearts of each color.
