WHAT FUN IT IS TO COLOR, BUT THESE SHEETS ARE MUCH MORE THAN THAT! They make Valentine's Day more fun, and even give the students a printed letter and envelope to complete and give to their favorite person.
This lesson is designed to make life easier for the classroom teachers - a simple way to incorporate" art action" into independent activity time. It will provide the student with an experience in art, language arts, writing, and math through simple holiday coloring sheets, practice papers, and optional challenge pages. Many new vocabulary words will be learned. Attention to detail is encouraged.
Small muscle development is enhanced in this project, as well as, both counting and easy addition.

As an art teacher, I, of course, feel that it is so important to incorporate art into the classroom activities - especially, if you are not fortunate enough to have an art teacher or art room as part of your school environment. But, I also realize that classroom teachers are busy striving to meet all the common core requirements, and, thus, do not have time for planning and creating many extras. THAT IS MY JOB!
As a retired elementary art teacher, with a lifetime of my original lesson plans, samples, and projects, I am now attempting to simplify and re-write these ideas, to be used as "extras in YOUR classroom." Many of them will assist in common core, especially in the language arts area.
