Teacher will introduce this poem by assembling it on the sentence strip chart and reading with the class.
Students then use this poem in their poetry journal by cutting and pasting a copy into their journal and then drawing a picture of what the poem makes them think of. First graders could also write what they think about.
Students will also use this poem in the sentence strip center to build the poem that has been cut into pieces. Teacher will provide a completed copy for K students to model the strips after.
