This fun and engaging Valentines Day Smart Notebook lesson is sure to grab your young elementary music students attention with its colorful graphics and interactive components. Students will be required to identify known Solfege pitches/tones of "do" & "mi" & "sol" to prepare for the next step in learning new pitch/tone "re" by labeling known pitches/tones on the staff using the interactive pens, by using infinitely cloned note head icons, etc. Students will also be prepped on the concept of new rhythm pattern "ta-a" (half note) in 2 different ways - 1). by using tied quarters and 2). by turning the tied quarters into one half note. Several different practice activities are included for the students to use as follow up to test their skills and knowledge of what they've just learned. Some of these activities include audio files of piano pitches to help identify the correct Solfege pitches/tones etc. The concept of "Movable do" is also used so that students can see that "do" isn't always in the same place.
