Valentine Sight Word Game: This sight word game is great to practice sight words that students often find difficult. Great for Valentine centers!
Excellent for visual perception practice and for reinforcement of the following sight words: laugh, first, always, which, between, would, could, think, thank, were, where, thought, example.
Each of the thirteen words are printed on each card but there is only one matching color and word pair. Students must have 'Sharp Eyes' to find the match!
It is best to have the students sit so that each student can see the cards correct way up for this game. Shuffle the cards and place the deck face down. Turn up the top two cards and place in the center of the table. Students look to find the match and say the word. Remember, the matching pair must be identical in coloring and word. The first to spot and say the match keeps one of the cards. Turn up another card from the deck so you have two cards in the center again. Continue in the same way until there are no cards left in the deck. The student with the most cards wins the game.
