One of my popular activity types now with Valentine vocabulary. Students can practice spelling different arctic words. Vocabulary words are: candy, card, diamond, glitter, hearts, lace, and rose. Templates are designed to work with small magnetic letters from Lakeshore Learning, although any letters no larger than 1 1/2 inches will work (plastic letters, letter tiles, letter cards, etc). Includes templates with colored letters (blue consonants, red vowels), gray letters, then blank. This prompting system can help students become more independent while learning to spell these vocabulary words and makes differentiation for varied levels easy. Activity is applicable for any student working on letter matching or spelling. Could be used for teaching, assessment, or fun independent work. Great for students with Autism or other special needs as it is a closed ended activity and could even be broken into smaller activities. Also good for EFL/ESL/ELD/ELL students. Great for younger siblings who want activities like their big brothers or sisters. Designed by Lee Ann Mahoney. Credit to scrappindoodles.com for all images
This activity correlates with the popular story "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Rose".
