Pages 3-16 Match the present tense verb to the irregular past tense verb by matching cupid to the heart. Suggested activities include Go Fish or Memory Match or pass out all irregular past tense cards evenly to each player and put the present tense verbs in a draw pile. Students take turns picking a card and the student with the matching irregular past tense verb will get to keep the match. (56 verbs to match)
Page 17 Could be two activities on one page. You can cut the page apart and have the student complete the fill in the blank worksheets on two separate days or send the sheets home as a small homework assignment for extra practice. Students will read the sentence and decide which verb completes the sentence.
Page 18 Cupid’s Course is an open ended board game. You could use the cards on pages 3-16 as a draw pile and have the student pick a card and give the present or irregular past tense verb for the chosen card before taking a turn.
Page 19 Another Valentine game. Draw letters to be the first one to spell LOVE.
Pages 20-24 Play CUPID (a form of BINGO). The calling cards are the present tense. The students must find the irregular past tense verb on his/her card. Use conversation hearts candies or bingo chips as your markers.
